Detroit Style Surf & TURF Lobster Roll RECIPE

LOBSTER ROLL PREP TIME: 20 MINUTES COOK TIME: 20 MINUTES

TOTAL TIME: 40 MINUTES SERVINGS: 2 CALORIES: 410 CAL

Grab your Filet mignon steak, chop your steak  into small pieces marinate  your steak in your favorite seasonings, then take your warm lobster, drench in melted herb butter and pile it onto a toasted split bun topped off with fresh herbs.


INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 pound Maine Lobster meat pre shucked & pre-cooked
  • 4 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon rosemary chopped + more for garnish
  • 1/2 fresh lemon squeezed juiced
  • pinch of old bay 
  • 2 split buns


  • 4 ounces of filet mignon steak
  • 1 teaspoon of your favorite steak seasoning 
  • Marinate steak for at least 5 hours 
  • 1 teaspoon melted butter

 

  • Melt one teaspoon of butter in a skillet or cast iron pan. Toast the buns in the pan until browned on the outside, turning several times with a pair of tongs until you've achieved a golden crust.
  • Next use the same pan melt one teaspoon of butter. Make sure you chop your steak very small so it can cook quicker. Next add your marinated chopped steak to your buttery pan. Cook until you have achieved your desired temperature & remove steak from heat. 
  • In a small saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons butter and add chopped rosemary, fresh lemon juice an old bay. Mix together and keep warm on a low heat. Purchase Lobster that’s pre-cooked and that’s already packaged. So there’s no cracking claws or boiling a lobster, just open lobster meat place in seasoned butter, cook for 2 mins on medium heat & then serve. 
  • Divide the steak between the buns first, then place warm butter lobster on top, then drizzle additional butter-lemon sauce over as desired.  Sprinkle with additional Rosemary for garnish & Serve.
